Here is a countdown to the start of the 2018 ARRL Field Day event. The footage was taken from my Flex 6300 SDR and my SDRPlay RSP1a SDR. ARRL Field Day is both a contest and an opportunity for hams to test their amateur radio skills in the event of a natural disaster. I recommend participating in field day, even if you are not testing a disaster setup – those guys need contacts! They need to prove their stations are effective. The objective is to work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands and to learn to operate in less than optimal conditions.

Field Day is open to all amateurs in the areas covered by the ARRL/RAC Field Organizations and countries within IARU Region 2.
