Here is ham radio operator VK6AL making an FT8 contact with me on 20 meters this evening. This contact was over 18,000 kilometers from my location which is near Toronto.
The radio being used is the Icom 7300. It is fed to my EFHW vertical with a 9:1 unun. I do need to use the Icom’s auto-tuner, but it does a great job.
Anthony’s current equipment is an Icom IC-7700, Icom IC-7000 with LDG AT7000, and a Kenwood TS2000X. HFLinear amp for 400 wattspep the VK limit.
